The Carlton Respects: Road to Respect project expands the reach of Carlton's commitment to schools and students across the country, to promote practical concepts of emotional resilience, inclusion, and respectful behaviour, aligned to the Australian curriculum. This digital education program for students in Year 5 and 6 promotes gender equality for the prevention of violence against women, and respectful relationships in the lives of students. It uses an interactive game-based approach, where students join members of a junior school council as they investigate scenarios faced by peers and identify strategies to help them. Student engagement is strengthened by integrating the Carlton brand through the use of illustrative visual assets heroing AFL and AFWL Carlton players in action and videos of players to champion key messaging to students.

The project was built using a React frontend and PHP/MySQL based backend, hosted on AWS services. It features a simple, robust and secure sign in system for teachers, allowing them to self register and manage their class, creating student accounts and tracking progress and completion across whole class.
